Tasks, Lists, and Headings can all be marked as either Completed or Cancelled.
Completed items indicate that the task was done as intended, and is now complete. For example, if you had a task to water the garden, and you watered it, that task should now be marked as complete.
Cancelled items indicate that the task became no longer relevant, and a conscious decision was made to not complete this task.
For example, if I had a task to Wash the car, but it ended up raining that day, I could Cancel that task. This keeps it in my list of things that I addressed that day, even though I didn’t end up needing to complete it as originally anticipated.
Cancelling tasks is a useful functionality when something is no longer relevant, but you want to indicate that it was a conscious decision to not do the thing. Deleting tasks, on the other hand, should only be used if a task was added by mistake, or an item is truly irrelevant to the larger picture.
While deleted tasks go straight to the Trash Bin, cancelled tasks still get logged on your Adventure Log for the day.
