A List is a collection of Tasks.
A list can be treated either as an assortment of related tasks or as a project that’s getting worked on, like a goal.
For example, you could have a list called “Favorite movies”, which exists simply as a collection of your favorite movies, each of which is a task.
Or, if you want to treat the list more like a project or goal, it might be something like “Make a short film”, with Task and Heading items aimed at the ultimate completion of that project.
When you’re done with a list (perhaps especially if you’ve treated the list as a project or goal), a list can be marked as Completed or Cancelled (Completing and Cancelling). It will then get added to your Adventure Log.
Any repeating tasks inside the list will stop repeating once it’s completed. Any tasks that still have a incomplete dependency, and therefore couldn’t be completed individually, will also be marked as completed.
When you complete a Shared List, each teammate receives an un-shared copy of the list, and it will be stored on each of their individual Adventure Logs.
In addition to tasks, Lists can also hold Headings. A Heading can be used to organize tasks in a list into specific sections.
This can be great for lists treated as an ongoing collection, like a Groceries list, where Headings could be used to split up tasks between categories like “Dairy”, “Fruit”, or “Bread”.
If you’re treating your list as a project or goal, headings could be used to split your list by milestones.
Headings can also be given a Plan, Deadline, Tags, and Notes, for convenience in planning and organizing different bulks of work.
Sending a list to the trash will also trash all of its included Headings and Tasks.
Any repeating tasks inside the list will stop repeating. If you decide at a later point to recover the list, repeating tasks would also need to be re-configured.
